Avee Substrates

COMMERCIAL GROWING SYSTEMS

Coco coir applications, planned around the crop.

For hydroponic greenhouses, berries, floriculture, leafy greens, nurseries, propagation and professional growing-media manufacture. Start with the system and irrigation behaviour; then select the coir format and blend.
Buyer terms covered: coco peat, coir pith, coir dust, cocos, grow bag, growbag, grow slab, open-top bag, run-off and drain.

CHOOSE BY GROWING SYSTEM

Six ways commercial buyers use coir.

The same crop may need a different product in a slab, open-top container, propagation tray or potting mix. Treat each route as a separate specification.

01 · Slab and grow-bag hydroponics
Fertigated vegetables, strawberry and cut flowers. Define expanded volume, crop cycle, plants per bag, dripper layout, drainage slits and target air-water behaviour.

02 · Open-top and container culture
Blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, nursery stock and longer-cycle crops. Define bag or pot depth, volume, stability, drainage, irrigation frequency and expected service period.

03 · Propagation and young plants
Seeds, cuttings, plugs, starter blocks and cubes. Match the coir unit to tray geometry, automation, transplant stage and handling.

04 · Nursery and potting substrates
Container nurseries, ornamentals, fruit trees and tropical plants. Specify particle structure, water distribution, rewetting, shrinkage, bulk density and mixing compatibility.

05 · Growing-media blending
Coir pith, chips and fibre supplied as components or custom blends for substrate companies and contract packers.

06 · Field and specialist uses
Soil amendment, raised beds, mulch, animal bedding and erosion-related formats require their own product and acceptance specification; availability is confirmed enquiry by enquiry.

THE GROWER BRIEF

A useful recommendation begins with five operating facts.

1. Crop, variety, plant density and production stage.
2. Greenhouse, tunnel, indoor, nursery, open-field or blending system.
3. Container or slab geometry and target expanded volume.
4. Climate, source-water quality, irrigation frequency, drain/run-off and dry-back approach.
5. Crop duration, sanitation plan, trial volume and commercial scale.

Then define the coir.

Agree pith-chip-fibre composition, particle grade, washed/buffered route, EC and pH method, AFP/WHC/porosity method, dimensions, sleeve and holes, packing, tolerance and batch acceptance.
APPLICATION FAQ

Practical questions from growers and buyers.

Can one coir blend suit every crop?
No. Root volume, crop duration, climate and irrigation determine the useful physical structure.

Is a grow bag the same as an open-top bag?
A sleeved slab and an open-top container are different formats with different geometry, drainage and handling.

Should the blend be selected before the irrigation plan?
They should be developed together. Dripper flow, frequency, drain target and dry-back strategy affect the required substrate behaviour.

Can I trial before a container order?
Discuss a representative sample or trial quantity together with the final written specification and scale-up plan.
